Angelica root is very helpful for colic and digestive problems. It is considered a tonic to improve well-being and mental harmony. During the 17th and 18th centuries, the juice of the plant was used in the eyes and ears to help with dimness of sight and deafness. It has also been for toothaches. Angelica cleans wounds and helps them to heal quickly. It is useful in all sorts of stomach and intestinal difficulties, including ulcers and vomiting with stomach cramps. It can be used for intermittent fever, nervous headaches, colic, and general weakness. Angelica contains vitamin B12, which is rare in vegetation. Diabetics should use caution with this herb because it increases sugar in the blood. It is also an emmenagogue (stimulate menstrual flow), so it should NOT be used by pregnant women.
