SENSITIVE PLANT (MIMOSA PUDICA)

SENSITIVE PLANT (MIMOSA PUDICA) Sensitive plant scientifically known as Mimosa pudica is a creeping annual or perennial herb which is also known as Touch-me-not, Shame Bush, and other names is found in Central and South America. Nowadays, it can also be found in North America as well as Asian countries. Mimosa comes from the Greek word mimikos, which means ‘to mimic’ or ‘counterfeit’, through the Latin word mimus and suffix -osa, which means ‘abounding in’, and refers to the many flowers that appear to be a single flower (Parsons and Cuthbertson, 1992). The specific name pudica is from the Latin word that means ‘modest’ or ‘bashful’. It is often grown for its curiosity value mostly in undisturbed shady areas, under trees or shrubs. The seeds of the Sensitive plant is mucilaginous, meaning they swell when they come into contact with a liquid and form a gel similar to chia seeds. Once in the digestive system, the seeds act as a scrubber to the intestinal walls removing heavy metals, parasites, toxins, and harmful bacteria. Studies have shown that the seeds of the mimosa pudica have killed not only adult parasites, but it also can kill inactivate larvae (immature worms). Its been recognized that good gut health is healing to mental health. For this reason, Mimosa pudica, can be great for mental health. 90% of serotonin (neurotransmitter) is made in the gut. Your gut produces neurotransmitters or nerve messengers, which help regulate your mood. Being that the mimosa pudica improves gut health, it stands to reason that it also can help with mental health such as anxiety, depression, negative thinking, insomnia, and irritability. Other medicinal properties of the sensitive plant: Healing wounds and skin, liver damage, Lyme disease, arthritis, hair growth, Sciatic nerve damage, ulcers, asthma, vaginal issues, inflammation, excessive bile, and diarrhea. If you looking for a powerful parasite cleanse, mimosa pudica should be one of the plants in your compound along with cascara sagrada, rhubarb, black walnut, clove, and papaya seeds to name a few.
